Feature
The DS18B20 digital thermometer is a 1-Wire device produced by DALLAS, that is, a single-bus device, with simple circuit and small size. Therefore, it is very convenient to use it to form a temperature measurement system, which has a simple circuit. You can hang many such digital thermometers on a communication line.
1. Features of DS18B20 products
(1) Only one port is required to realize communication.
(2) Each device in DS18B20 has a unique serial number.
(3) Temperature measurement can be achieved without any external components in actual applications.
(4) The measuring temperature range is -55. C to +125. Between C.
(5) The user can choose the resolution of the digital thermometer from 9 to 12 digits.
(6) There are internal temperature upper and lower limit alarm settings.
Because DS18B20 adopts the 1-Wire bus protocol, that is, the two-way transmission of data is realized on one data line. For the AT89S51 microcontroller, the hardware does not support the single bus protocol. Therefore, we must use software to simulate Single bus protocol sequence to complete the access to the DS18B20 chip.
Because DS18B20 reads and writes data on an I/O line, it has strict timing requirements for the data bits read and written. DS18B20 has a strict communication protocol to ensure the correctness and integrity of data transmission. The protocol defines the timing of several signals: initialization timing, reading timing, and writing timing. All timings regard the host as the master and the single-bus device as the slave. And every transmission of commands and data starts with the host actively starting the write sequence. If the single-bus device is required to send back data, after the write command is issued, the host needs to start the read sequence to complete the data reception. The transmission of data and commands are low order first.

The read timing of DS18B20 is divided into two processes: read 0 timing and read 1 timing.
The read time slot of DS18B20 is after the single bus is pulled low from the host, the single bus must be released within 15 seconds to allow DS18B20 to transmit data to the single bus. DS18B20 needs at least 60us to complete a read sequence process.
DS18B20 write timing
The write timing of DS18B20 is still divided into two processes: write 0 timing and write 1 timing.
The requirements for DS18B20 write 0 timing and write 1 timing are different. When writing 0 timing, the single bus must be pulled down at least 60us to ensure that DS18B20 can correctly sample the "0" power on the IO bus between 15us and 45us. Ping, when writing 1 timing, after the single bus is pulled low, the single bus must be released within 15us.
